The tree used to make this trivet/round is reclaimed from the 2020 Bear fire in Northern California. We have made many beautiful things from this tree : ) The trivet is spalted mountain maple and is sanded and finished on both sides with mineral oil and beeswax. Size: approx 8” - 12” diameter. Approx 1” - 3" thickness **These rounds can vary some in size, shape and design, but look similar as they are cut from the same trees. FYI - Spalting definition: Spalting refers to the process in which wood undergoes coloration and pattern changes due to the growth of fungi. This natural occurrence not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the wood but also adds value to it.
