This is a live edge bowl, turned from American Black Cherry and finished to high luster with shellac as a sealer and coats of wax applied as the lathe is spinning. It is rather small in diameter, 5 1/2" but fairly deep at 4 1/2". The bottom of the bowl rises through an ogee-type of curve and then is fairly straight to the barked rim.
